You don't need to randomize the names in order to have them shuffle --
there's several ways to shuffle a list on the fly if you're making your
screensaver in shell, or, xscreensaver already includes a "display random
image from a given directory" screensaver. (It also can resize on the fly,
and in fact do some resizing-based effects, so maybe you want to leave your
images large....)
