Yes, maybe a bit too experimental for me, and i have never patched my
kernel. -But it doesn't quite suit my problem either.

The patch states :
"....when the SB600 SATA is set as IDE mode by BIOS"
Wich - in my case isn't the problem. - I think...

My BIOS setting is AHCI, and i'd very much like to keep NCQ etc.


However i have succeeded in installing FC6 with kernel 2.6.18 (and OT
ubuntu 6.10 w. 2.6.17).

The catch here is to use the IRQPOLL parameter at boot.

BUT, this result in /var/log/messages growing _very_ fast, due to
interrupt errors (again OT ubuntu 6.10 has the same problem).
