tnx.  mine just kills the tab either way.  this is very odd.

Previously, the default was the other way around (my preference is how
you've described it, co-incidentally).  Open up the about:config
interface in Firefox, and use middle as your filter keyword.  Toggle the
true/false boolean for middlemouse.contentLoadURL.

That was the one to play with on prior versions, it's probably the same
for 2.0 (or something similar).
