Root is okay but new accounts terminate.

I had that problem once with FC2. I noticed that when it happened
whenever the owner:group of the .Xauthority file changed to root:root.
That happened whever I launched an X application (usually K3B) as root
from gnome-terminal. chown'ing the file back to default user:group
fixed the problem. This *might* be the problem. The default
permissions for the file are as below. I'm using FC5 (x86_64) now.

[veejay@marvin ~]$ ll .Xauthority
-rw------- 1 veejay users 125 Sep 9 12:36 .Xauthority

.Xauthority is missing from all non root and new user accounts.

Looks like a reinstall job !

Many thanks,

Aaron
