just fyi,  
The computer has other problems, even on slax live cd,
this happened.  
I apologize for wasting bandwidth.  When I started the
machine it let me know that certain acpi to cool down
the cpu failed to load.  I need to check the cpu/cpu
fan.  Thanks for your help.
