Determining the chipset of a wireless NIC?

Hello all,

Is there a way to determine the chipset that is used in a given wireless NIC?
I've read the comments that manufacturers sometimes change the chipset in
mid-production.

After reading comments on Newegg.com concerning a specific card, I
bought one since one reviewer said that it was recognized by Ubuntu.

The card in question is a Netgear WG511T.

Any help with the configuration, or with choosing the correct option on
the GUI-based setup for FC5, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help...Jim
