I opened a different bug against the ftp client (ref https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=196103 ) relating to the use of ntrans in ~/.netrc. I supplied diff files, and the correction has been released the other day via yum update for FC5.

I don't belelive the fix is FC-specific... will it get passed upstream "automatically", or do I need to follow up so it works correctly on other platforms too?

It's probably most helpful if you do it.

OK... I don't mind....

How do I find out where "upstream" is for ftp? Or any other program for that matter?

(It'd be cool if yum info provided that)
