I'm still playing with this, when I have a few minutes to spare, trying to get
it to install on FC4. I'm following the instructions in the
unpacked .tar.gz, but have hit the following:

  File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/numpy/distutils/misc_util.py", line
529, in _get_configuration_from_setup_py
    config = setup_module.configuration(*args)
  File "Lib/integrate/setup.py", line 11, in configuration
    blas_opt = get_info('blas_opt',notfound_action=2)
  File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/numpy/distutils/system_info.py", line
244, in get_info
    return cl().get_info(notfound_action)
  File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/numpy/distutils/system_info.py", line
385, in get_info
    raise self.notfounderror,self.notfounderror.__doc__
numpy.distutils.system_info.NotFoundError: Some third-party program or library
is not found.

blas_opt is from liblapack, I understand, so

slocate liblapack
/usr/lib/atlas/liblapack.so.3.0
/usr/lib/atlas/liblapack_atlas.so.3
/usr/lib/atlas/liblapack.so.3
/usr/lib/atlas/liblapack_atlas.so.3.0

that seems to be available. And

slocate system_info
/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/numpy/distutils/system_info.pyo
/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/numpy/distutils/system_info.pyc
/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/numpy/distutils/system_info.py

that seems ti be where it is expected. Any hints, please?

Anne
