Hi;

I have been having problems printing with The Gimp. The sourceforge.net
gimp-print mailing list advised that I download the
gutenprint20060505.tar.bz2 patch. (Called Gutenprint 5.0 pre-release
snapshot). I have download it.
Now, where do I install it to work with FC5 and The Gimp?
Should I install it? Is this good advice or will I get into conflicts
with existing FC5 gimp-print? Do I replace /usr/share/gimp-print or do
I just add a new gutenprint folder in /usr/share/gutenprint? It is not
an rpm, so, do I go ahead and config install, make, install? I have
only installed with 'make' a few times and that was a couple of years
ago. Should I wait for a Fedora rpm. I am not afraid of trying to
install a *.tar.bz2, if I can get some advice.

The package is under review in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=199108

There is a SRPM available which you can build for yourself. yum-builddep in yum-utils would be useful.

Note that this package might contain bugs.
