Re: FC5 doesn't start up right.

I do however see:

maybe that should be something different or maybe I should edit /etc/X11/prefdm so that it starts gdm instead of what its trying to start which I think may be kde since that is what I was using before.

If your problem is only booting into runlevel 5 instead of runlevel 3
edit /etc/inittab and change
"id:3:initdefault:" to "id:5:initdefault:". Next reboot should start gdm.
