Ethernet drivers and 2.6.17-1.2141 on x86_64

I am running FC4 on x86_64. The last "yum update" installed
kernel-2.6.17-1.2142_FC4.

During bootup, I see lots of messages like these (screen after screen,
each line with different numbers):

interface 'dev12345' not found.

Then, I see:

eth0: error fetching interface information: Device not found.
eth1: error fetching interface information: Device not found.

And, of course, neither eth0 or eth1 is working.

Looking at my /var/log/messages afterwards, I see these entries:

Jul 16 09:23:02 satyr kernel: DMI 2.3 present.
Jul 16 09:23:03 satyr kernel: >>> ERROR: Invalid checksum

Has anyone seen this? I got the same from the 2.6.17-1.2141 kernels.
