I would have thought that if the integrated sound is disabled there shouldn't 
be any problem of it being seen.  You should only need to run 'alsactl 
store'.

'alsactl restore' should be run automatically at bootup, but if you want to 
make sure you could always try putting that into rc.local

Okay and thanks. I'll see how things go on next reboot.

I guess I'm confused by why system-config-soundcard is overriding these settings? I would have thought it would have used alsa.
