I imagine that this will also work:

rpm -qa openoffice.org\*

But my fingers are used to typing the grep.  Grep is also useful for
catching packages that might be related but don't start with the query. 
For example:

rpm -qa | grep -i mysql

Gives more info than

rpm -qa mysql\*
