I've seen a number of threads in the last couple of days about networking
problems after installing kernel-2.6.17-1.2139_FC5. If you are having
problems and you have more than one NIC, please try the following and
report back whether it works:

(1) Install initscripts-8.31.2-1 from updates-testing.
(2) If you have an ipw2100 or ipw2200, install the latest appropriate
firmware RPM from livna.
(3) Open system-config-network and delete all interfaces from the
interfaces tab and all devices from the hardware tab.
(4) Edit /etc/modprobe.conf and remove aliases for network devices.
(5) Reboot.
(6) Open system-config-network and verify that your devices are correctly
configured. (Note that the device order may have changed. After this, it
will not change again.)
(7) Check /etc/modprobe.conf. If you use an ipw2200, the following
options are recommended:

 	options ipw2200 hwcrypto=0 associate=0

(7) Test your interfaces.
done.
It works, but I think it worked also before.
The problem is that change in naming interface is not good.

That's right. But the initscripts fixes the apparently random reassignment that people are seeing. It has to pick an order, and if that wasn't the last one you saw, it will change. From now on, though, it won't change any more.
