Seems to be a problem with environment variable. The symlink defines an
environment variable:

GTK_IM_MODULE=scim

This kills acroread (why?).

The solution I've adopted is to put in the acroread scrip:

unset GTK_IM_MODULE

I have another computer with "same" configation and this problem doesn't
occur, but it is a x86_64 FC4 distrib.
