adsl-start problem

Hi, I have a problem with my adsl modem connection that is really frustrating.

For the best part of a year all has been fine, then I installed FC5,
still all was ok (fresh install, not upgrade). After about a week or
two I did an update via yum to updata all packages etc etc..

Now, my modem won't connect, I get time out errors and something about PADO.

The fix is to do from a term the following:

/etc/init.d/network stop
adsl-setup
shutdown -r now

Then upon reboot a conection will establish. But if I turn my machine
off, the next reboot will not conect. So basically every time I use
the PC I have to boot, re-do the adsl-setup and reboot.

Any ideas as to what the problem is?
