Wireless network does not start at bootup

The wireless works, but it doesn't start at bootup. I have to issue the "ifup eth1" command. I was hoping someone could suggest a reason why or what I should look for.

Here's the ifcfg-eth1 file:

DEVICE=eth1
ONBOOT=yes
BOOTPROTO=static
IPADDR=192.168.1.25
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
BROADCAST=192.168.1.255
NETWORK=192.168.1.0
#
# Wireless parameters
#
TYPE=Wireless
MODE=Managed
ESSID=wireless1
KEY=...

Thanks!
