Is there a command line version of gkrellm? Or some sort of command line app 
that will tell my CPU temperature?

I've went thru archives on getting gkrellm displayin cpu temp., Fan speed 
...
I've used " sensors-detect" to get lm-sensors running, but it doesn't
seem to be enough to get gkrellm sensors works

sudo sensors gives me :
eeprom-i2c-0-52
Adapter: SMBus I801 adapter at 0400
Memory type:            DDR2 SDRAM DIMM
Memory size (MB):       512

eeprom-i2c-0-50
Adapter: SMBus I801 adapter at 0400
Memory type:            DDR2 SDRAM DIMM
Memory size (MB):       512
