Just an added bit of info: for any modern HP printer with a JetDirect
card, you can use "unix lpd" or whatever it's called on your system
and use "raw" as the queue. It's alleged to be a better protocol
than the old jetdirect protocol (someone has referred to that as
a "cheesy non-protocol"). I use them this way all the time at work
as well as for customers.
