Right click on the volume control icon in the upper right corner of the screen; select the sound control. This open the "mixer"

2006/1/3, jackc <jcraig@xxxxxxxxxxx>:
dmesg has only this in the log, what more should it have reported for
audio detections?

PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:00: 1f.5 to 64
intel8x0_measure_ac97_clock: measured 49321 usecs
intel8x0: clocking to 48000

also weird, in the soundcard detection, the vendor is unknown.
as this is pci, am i looking at a missing vendor code for the
driver? wagging now.. ???

tia,jackc...
