DVD burnning: image does not fit on a disc.

Using k3b-0.12.10 I get the error:

Am I to understand that the image exceeds disc in just ~17kb?!
What is the size with which I can create my iso-files to burn it on
another machine and be sure it fits a disc size!? Thank You!
