Hi, if you are in faculty i saw notebooks sold with installed mandriva linux in france. Check for them. FC should run fine on them. If you buy HP Notebooks most models have official linux support and are certified for RLES and SLES. The ship with installation documentation that also applies to FC. I bought a HP Compaq nx8220 recently and it works great except the suspend to mem and disk.
