Note: Fedora Core CDROMs are not live CDs, that is, you can not run Fedora from them.  There are live CD distributions based upon Fedora Core code but no official Fedora Core live CD.  In order to use any of the Fedora Core distributions you must install the software to your hard drive and boot to the installed software.

It would appear that Fedora Core is having a problem accessing your CD.  Did you perform media test? Also, try running the install again but enter "ide=nodma" without the quotation marks as a command line option to see if that helps.

You still have not answered all my questions.  Did you perform the media test?  If not, do so.

OK,  after booting the Fedora CD you get the options to 1) install or upgrade in graphical mode, 2) install or upgrade in text mode, or 3) press a function key for more information.  If you press ENTER you boot into the graphical mode and the very, very first screen that appears is media test.  Did you skip this test?
