Thanks for all the advice Bill. In the end, I just trashed the disk,
installed Solaris in the first partition, then did a very minimal fedora
install and restored the whole thing from backup. Worked like a charm
and only took a few hours.
Let's have a big hand for bacula (www.bacula.org)!
