why?
Thanks

I have come across this before. Depending on the manufacturer, they do some weird things with the file system on the key. The key will work in Windows but not Linux or Mac.

I have had to repartition the stick and reformat. I actually got the instructions from one manufacturers web site. Also allows me to name the stick to whatever I want. I usually put my name in it.

Any data on the key will be lost.

Basically
fdisk
mkfs.vfat (for windows computability)
