The same happens to me on our old HP Servers. You have a Perc2 or Perc3
Raid Controller in this machine?

If this is the case, then you ran into the same problem as i did.

You need the old megaraid driver for this box. But the FC3 install
kernel only has support for the new style driver, which indeed choosed
to left out the old hardware, cause the company who wrote it decided
that old hardware is bad.

Luckily someone has made a driver disk for the FC3 install kernel and i
own a copy of it. I'll make it available on my webserver for you.

P.s. The following released kernel did also include the Driver.
P.P.s RedHat also decided not to support this hardware in RHEL4.
