I downloaded the 4.1 isos a while back. The only thing I think was
missing was md5sums or something equivalent to let me know if the isos
were correct.

The Bit Torrent protocol incorporates data integrity checking. If you complete a download using one of the torrent clients you can be certain that the data is correct.
