Fedora core (be that FC3 and/or FC4) are optimized for i686 and
compatible with i386.
They are not optimized for Xeon.

According to Fedora devs, such optimization will yield limited
improvement. 
(Which to my own experience, in most part, this is true; using -march
instead of -mtune does really increase the code's performance.)
