The pptp package no longer works with the latest kernel - 2.6.13-1.1526_FC4. More specifically, installing rpm -ivh kernel_ppp_mppe-0.0.5-2dkms.noarch.rpm fails, saying that the mppe is now included in this kernel. However, there's a module missing that was present in earlier kernels but is absent now: /lib/modules/2.6.12-1.1456_FC4/kernel/drivers/net/ppp_mppe.ko Without this module, pptpconfig cannot start a ppp link to a remote pptp server. I haven't found any notice of this problem on the pptp project page at http://pptpclient.sourceforge.net/ Can anyone confirm this problem?
