I can't help with your homework question, though I'd look at the existing
system call stuff in the source and use GDB to trace through a system call
on a UML, but I have my own question.  I want to do some kernel hacking
with only one machine, so UML seems the way to go.  I'd like to install UML
on my FC3.  Could you tell me how you (or your class) did it?
