/usr/local/lib/codecs is the place where the Mplayer
README recommends but others use
/usr/local/lib/win32/codecs/ or some thing like that. 
I would recommend /usr/local/lib/codecs because they
also recommend that.  If you use the later you would
have to link the directory to map over there.
