errr....i think i didn't understand it all, but if you want to install XP, it will erase all what you have on your hard disk. Then, with samba you'll be able to connect and/or install other stuff from/to the network.

Then, installing FC* version will create you a lilo/grub so you'll have dual boot if you need to.

So, enable samba on your server first i guess.
