Ok, I messed up and I am hoping it is not really big time.

 

I am trying to use evolution as an email client against exchange. Version 2.3.3 works marginally. It has some fairly serious drawbacks.  So I thought I would see if there was an upgrade. There was: 2.4 is out. So I installed it, along with 35 of its prerequisites. (no name calling at this point. I already feel stupid).

 

Anyway evolution is 1000 times les stable and now many GUI apps appear but the text is invisible (if it is there). It is really tough to use firefox when all I see is the underlines on the menus.

 

I suspect I can uninstall evolution and go back to the stable release but I am afraid the font problem will persist. Any assistance would be MUCH appreciated!
