I set up the driver to vesa (workin fine nw)

Does a radeon(which was used previously) give better performance ??

My mistake.
Somehow I thought it happens during installation.
Switch to the VESA driver and see if it helps.
(Edit the command line inside grub, adding the number "3". This will give
you a text only boot. Edit the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and replace the
ati/radeon driver in Drivers with "vesa". "init 5" to switch back to a
normal X boot)
