For FC3 default, there was a problem with the Intel i810 driver. The driver is fixed on updated versions within the repo. The problem is refresh related and adding
option "Noaccel"
to the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file just below the last entry for the Intel driver, before the next sectiion of the file starts, will get you by if you don't want to do an update on your system via yum in text mode. If you want to update your system via yum, when grub starts, hit a ky to show the menu. Next press a to display the boot command line. Backspace out the rhgb quiet portion of the entry and place a space followed by the number 3. This will put you into level 3 text and you casn then login as root on a terminal. run "yum -y update" and let your system become updated. Reboot your sysyem once the system updates complete. Using up2date might work also. You will need to import your RPM-GPG-KEYs before doing this.
rpm --import /usr/share/rhn/RPM-GPG-KE*

I'm curious as to why you are just installing FC3 when FC4 has been out for awhile. You can check out early archives around the time FC3 was released for more details. I have an FC3 installation but have had it setup for awhile on a computer with an Intel 815 video card.
