I'd like to walk through my mp3 directory and subdirectories and convert all my files to ogg and put them in a the same structure under a different directory. Is there something that does this? maybe someone could offer a script, I'm not as bash literate as some of you. Thanks !

I wouldn't do it. MP3's are compressed one way and ogg a different way. When you convert you will lose quality. And from my experience, quality is not that great.

I use flac for my rips but my portable player won't play them. I want to do a batch job of conversion to ogg or mp3 when I want to put music on my player(s).

On individual files I just tried Audacity and it worked okay going from flac to ogg or mp3.

There is this.
