Cross-compiling kernel modules

Simple question... I have a server with kernel sources
for various 2.6 kernels... It's an AMD64 processor, and hence
runs in x86_64 mode.

I'd like to build a "driver disk" for bringing up FC3 or FC4 on
another box that's an i386 box.

Couple of questions:

(1) how does one cross-compile kernel modules? (i.e. build i386
code on an x86_64 processor)

(2) how do you build a compact flash filesystem to boot from with
a ks.cfg file, some extra drivers, etc. to use in addition to the FC3-i386
DVD?

Thanks,

-Philip
