http://fedora.mirrors.tds.net/pub/fedora-core/updates/4/i386/glibc-common-2.3.5-10.3.i386.rpm:
[Errno 4] Socket Error: timed out
Trying other mirror.

I had that until I followed some advice about modifying
the /etc/yum.conf file, thus: add the following line in the list of
[main] options:

timeout=16

I find no mention of "timeout" as an option in the man file, but it did
the trick.

Added this into yum.conf, and no changes...
Tried another time wget and gives me the following:
"

Interrupted by myself after a long waiting (about 20mn of inactivity)...

While listing the http directory with Firefox, I got:
"
[ ]	glibc-common-2.3.5-10.i386.rpm 	30-May-2005 17:16 	 14M
"

I have enought disk space (no less than 8GB free on each partition)

Done a wget on gimp-help-2-0.1.0.71.noarch.rpm which is 14M too whithout problems...

This computer is a gateway. I've tried on another computer (RedHat 9 with kernel 2.6.9) which is on the internal network, and got the same problem, but wget blocks at 6,540,408.

Another try on my gateway with wget blocks at 6,536,240 (not the same as above)

Any idea???

Try:

$ curl --retry 20 --remote-time --remote-name --location \
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/4/i386/os/Fedora/RPMS/glibc-common-2.3.5-10.i386.rpm

Paul.
