hi all,

I installed the new kernel today 2.6.12-1.1447_FC4 on my T21.
1. ibm-acpi module was not autoloaded. These are on the only meesages in dmesg:

Using generic hotkey driver
toshiba_acpi: Using generic hotkey driver

Yep. Loading it by hand on my T41 produces:

# modprobe -v ibm_acpi
insmod /lib/modules/2.6.12-1.1447_FC4/kernel/drivers/acpi/ibm_acpi.ko
ibm_acpi: Using generic hotkey driver
FATAL: Error inserting ibm_acpi (/lib/modules/2.6.12-1.1447_FC4/kernel/drivers/acpi/ibm_acpi.ko): No such device

2. acpi keeps giving an error about its owner (??)

00Aug 29 19:18:35 purgatory kernel: ACPI-0145: *** Error: Invalid owner_id:

can i fix this or ... go back to the old kernel ?

The old kernel is still there. When you see the GRUB spalsh screen at boot, press any key. Then you'll get a selector for all the kernels you have.

Reported as

Thanks for any hints

Efthym

P.S is there any chance in the near future for ibm-acpi being upgraded to v0.11 in the default kernel ?
