get an sha1sum on the iso image to make sure that before you burn the
cd/dvd, it matches up.

Yes, starting with FC-4, they use sha1sum and not md5sum.

I recall discussion about having to 'pad' a dvd.iso in the past but if I
recall correctly, that was with FC-3 - don't know about FC-4 or burning
it onto DVD, I have only downloaded cd images and burned those. Perhaps
someone else with knowledge on burning the dvd.iso can pipe in on any
extra steps necessary before burning to dvd.

obviously, once a cd/dvd is burned, you can get the md5sum/sha1sum on
the disk as well.

I thought that their language was a bit sloppy there. I think it is the
initial boot prompt where you must state 'linux mediacheck nocddma' and
in my limited thinking, if I can't mediacheck the installer disk(s), I
have to change the methodology of creating the disks or the drive
reading the disks.
