Well during the installation, there be a step that sais "Choose components" 
where you can select what components you need.  Instead of it displaying 
someapp-someversion.rpm, it will show you the name of the application in 
question, with a description, and let you select any sub components.  It 
seems rather hard to imagine that you missed that step!
