probably the FC users do not love to use xfs ;-(

My little suggest:

boot whit FC4 first CD in rescue mode:

boot: linux rescue

(scan for existing partition)

umount /mnt/sysimages/boot

chroot /mnt/sysimages

mount /dev/hda3 /boot

/sbin/grub-install /dev/hda

umount /boot

exit

exit
