You can buy an adaptor for it I think. Guess you didn't (or I'm wrong..)


These have a serial-over-IP function, which seems to work great until you try to use it, and then it just does nothing. This is handled by the magical management module (in the chassis).

These blades are IBM's HS20, 8843-11U, if that helps. There aren't actually any connectors on them, except where they plug into the backplane. If they just had a friggin' serial port, this would prolly all be moot!

RH8, RH9, and FC3 I think just work great on these things. FC4 instantly panics after loading the kernel. There is some pretty bizarre hardware put into these things, we've had a hell of a time with FreeBSD.

We have a ton of these, and our intention is to PXE them as needed, and use them for QA and Xen stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
