Music Player (Rhythmbox) finds and plays the MP3 files, but seems to
ignore the WMA files.  Is there  an addin/plugin for it that will let it
read/play/catalog the WMA files?

Just install xmms and xmms-wma packages...

One other way is also to:
- install mplayer with ffmpeg lib
- install xmms
- install xmms mplayer plugin for use with wma and other prop. formats
