Katherine and Neil,

Same here.  I had to stop and restart the Mixer Applet, too.

So far it has happened twice.  Maybe the last couple of updates, but I
don't see anything for gstreamer since I installed gstreamer-plugins-mp3
on June 8th and I don't think that was it.
