powersaving howto ?

Hi,

Since I run a few Fedora boxes which are switched on all day I'm interested in
doing as much as possible regarding power saving without it getting in the
way of course (like videocard switching off when I watch a video :-) ).

It is however not very clear to me how things like BIOS, CPU, Fedora interact
and I'm looking for some good (not outdated) information regarding power
saving on my FC3 & FC4 machines.

I did switch on as much as possible power saving options, but I'm not sure if
they really work (like cpuspeed for example, I'm not sure if it works out of
the box or needs some special configuration for my AMD64 box)

Anyone knows a good place to start ?

Regards,
Marcel
