That sounds like the same problem as I have. But on my Asus P4T-E
motherboard there is no BIOS option called extended post check. It's
possible to disable "Quick Post On Self Test" but it didn't help.

I also updated to latest BIOS firmware. But that didn't help either. 

Are there any linux commands that can trigger the BIOS to do a rescan?
