I have not tried it - but I will be adding a drive soon to one of my boxes following this procedure: http://fedoranews.org/contributors/andrew_donoho/lvm/ The plan is to a) back up data b) boot off of emergency boot CD c) follow instructions Looks pretty straight forward to me
