Hey friends,

Yestarday I installed FC3 through NFS .I wanted to test Mail Scanner
with clamav + postfix. While installing MailScanner it said there are
no /usr/src/redhat directory.

I was surprised to see that redhat directory under /usr/src was not
there.I created redhat directory under /usr/src .Under redhat
directory I created RPMS,BUILD,SOURCES,SPECS,SRPMS subdirectories and
under RPMS subdirectory I created athlon,i386,i486,i586,i686 and
noarch directories.

I again tried to install MailScanner and it keep showing this while installing

Missing file /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/noarch/perl-Net-CIDR-0.10-1.noarch.rpm.
Maybe it did not build correctly?

Attempting to build and install perl-IO-stringy-2.108-1
--rebuild: unknown option

It keeps coming for every rpm under MailScanner.I tried to install those .src.rpm manually. They got installed but when i tried to build them

rpmbuild -ba perl-Net-CIDR-0.10-1.spec.

"It said file not found."

I forget to install the software development tools while installing
the FC3 .But later on whatever libraries and programs
(make, binutils, gcc) which were needed by MailScanner I installed it.I
have only selected KDE and X windows for Desktop Environment.

a)I want to know the reason for /usr/src/redhat directory missing at the first place

b) What I have to do to make MailScanner installed properly.

Thanks & Regards

You need to install the rpm-build rpm
