For configuring your network please consult the documentation

(though written for RHEL4 it mostly fits FC3 too)

The one dedicated to Fedora is in works and growing up.

For emailing you could use Evolution or KMail for instance (both GUI
MUAs, first for Gnome, second for KDE).
